The Impact of Your Creativity

Festival of Trees is a fundraiser for Quad City Arts, which brings art programs to youth and adults throughout the entire Quad Cities region through programs like the Visiting Artist Series, Art @ the Airport gallery, Rock Island gallery, Metro Arts, Arts Dollars, Chalk Art Fest, and more!

Your design will be sold to raise funds for these wonderful programs. We thank you for helping make a difference in our community!

General Information

-Limit two Small Wonder entries per person

-For each Small Wonder creation, entrant will receive 4 free general admission

tickets to Festival

-Drop off day: Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 12-6 pm at River Center
South Building, Great Hall (136 East 3rd Street, Davenport)

Categories and Judging

There are three categories of judging: Traditional Trees, Non-Traditional Trees, and

Specialties. Additional awards include Best Children's Theme, Best Festival Theme,

and Best of Show. 

Festival of Trees and its judges reserve the right to decide in their final and sole

discretion whether an entry is in the appropriate category. Winners will be

determined by judges appointed by Festival of Trees, and their decisions will be final.

Entries will be judged on creative use of materials, development of theme, and

overall appeal. Failure to meet the below qualifications will automatically eliminate

your design from the judging process. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons are awarded

in each category. All entries will be considered for Best Children's Theme, Best

Festival Theme, and Best of Show ribbons.

Qualifications

-Height should fall between 12 and 24 inches (excluding tree topper). For trees, the

width is not to exceed the width of the lower branches. For specialties, the width is

not to exceed 18 inches.

-Traditional trees are standard artificial trees, in any color. Non-traditional trees may

be made from any medium, such as wood, ceramics, fabric, glass, metal, etc.

-Specialties may be sleighs, angels, santas, dioramas, snowmen, etc. Specialties may

be made from any medium, such as wood, ceramics, fabric, glass, metal, etc.

-All entries must be sturdy and freestanding, with all decorations securely attached.

-Lighting is highly recommended. Electrical power is readily available. Please allow at

least 2 feet of cord at the base of the entry to reach the power outlets.

Battery-powered lights are not recommended and will not be maintained during

Festival.

Additional Information

 

-Your entry must be completed and ready to be placed on the display structure when you arrive.

-Advertisements and company logos are not permitted. The designer's name and company sponsor will be listed on signage provided by Festival.

-Entries become the sole property of Quad City Arts Festival of Trees at the time of delivery.

-Festival of Trees volunteers and Quad City Arts staff reserve the right to approve all designs.

-Entry title, designer(s), company, and benefactor will be published in the Fest Times if received by print deadline.

-Festival of Trees and Quad City Arts may use your name, photos, and the name of your sponsor (if any) in its publicity and literature.
